Ali Y. (Alik Youssef) is an elite healthcare cybersecurity executive, author, and HIMSS Fellow with over 22 years of experience protecting patient safety at the intersection of clinical technology and enterprise risk. He currently serves as the Director of Emerging Technology Security at Henry Ford Health, one of the nation's largest health systems, where he leads the governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance strategies for medical devices, IoT infrastructure, and AI-powered clinical systems. Having transitioned from an early-career biomedical and systems engineer into a specialized technical architect, he spent over a decade leading Henry Ford Health's mobility and digital health architecture before building their acclaimed, model medical device and IoT security programs from the ground up. He holds elite security and healthcare credentials—including CISSP, CISM, HCISPP, and CPHIMS—and is a recognized national authority who serves on AAMI's Healthcare Technology Leadership Committee and Editorial Board. A regular industry speaker and recipient of the 2023 AAMI Best Article Award, his literary contributions to the field include Wi-Fi Enabled Healthcare (2014) and his recent book, Where Matters: Healthcare’s Playbook for Location-Based Services 2.0 and AI (CRC Press, 2025), which introduced the Care Traffic Control operational framework.
