Deepti Pandita

Chief Medical Informatics and AI officer

Dr. Deepti Pandita, MD, FACP, FAMIA, is a prominent clinical informaticist, healthcare executive, and academic who serves as the Vice President of Clinical Informatics, Chief Medical Informatics Officer, and Chief AI Officer at UCI Health, the academic medical center for the University of California, Irvine. In these concurrent roles, she spearheads artificial intelligence (AI) governance, digital transformation, and clinician efficiency frameworks, focusing on deploying ambient documentation and AI-driven workflow solutions to mitigate cognitive burnout among medical staff. An Associate Professor of Medicine and faculty member for UCI's Clinical Informatics Fellowship program, she previously served as the Chief Health Information Officer (CHIO) and fellowship program director at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis. Dr. Pandita is a leading national advocate for health equity and bridging digital health disparities among underserved populations. Her national leadership includes serving as a Board Member of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), Chair of the Medical Informatics Committee for the American College of Physicians (ACP), and co-authoring the ACP's national policy position paper on AI in healthcare provision. Board-certified in both internal medicine and clinical informatics, she earned her medical degree from Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, and completed her residency training at the University of North Dakota.
