
Dr. Roy Esaki, MD, MS, FASA, is a board-certified anesthesiologist, pain management specialist, and clinical informaticist who serves as the Chief Health Information Officer (CHIO) at The Queen's Health Systems, the largest healthcare system in Hawaii. In this executive capacity, he collaborates with senior leadership to direct enterprise digital strategy, optimize electronic health record systems, and champion clinical technology innovations aimed at enhancing patient safety and alleviating clinician administrative burden. Dr. Esaki holds a mechanical engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earned both his medical degree and a Master’s in Clinical Research from the University of Michigan, and completed his anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship at Stanford University. Alongside his executive duties, he maintains an active clinical practice as the Assistant Chief of the Anesthesia Department at the Queen's Medical Center, serves on the board of directors for the Hawaii Health Information Exchange, and acts as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
