
Dr. Shivam Vedak, MD, MBA, is a clinical informaticist, hospital medicine physician, and digital health leader who serves as the Medical Director for AI and Digital Health at Stanford Health Care and the Associate Director for AI in Medical Education at the Stanford University School of Medicine. In these joint administrative roles, he directs the operational integration, safe monitoring, and deployment of generative artificial intelligence across clinical workflows, alongside spearheading institutional education on large language models and evidence-based prompting. Clinically, Dr. Vedak practices as a surgical co-management hospitalist at Stanford Health Care. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago—where he was honored as the American College of Physicians Outstanding Resident of the Year—and subsequently graduated from Stanford's clinical informatics fellowship program. Board-certified in both internal medicine and clinical informatics, Dr. Vedak holds a dual MD/MBA from UIC and a Bachelor of Science in Biology-Neuroscience from Penn State University.
